Tenochtitlan was a city, not a country. It's underneath Mexico City now, which is in the country of Mexico.

Tenochtitlan isn't a modern country. It's in what is now Mexico, and it is mostly buried beneath Mexico City.

It is now Mexico City. Modern day Mexico is built actuallt on top of the ruins.
