You have to remember that most companies even if they operate on weekends but the admin or the management may only work regular work week i.e. mon - fri. Since this happened on wed, the potential employer may not yet have the time to reply to you given only 2 business days had passed. Give him a little more time, i would say until wed this week. If you still hear nothing from them, email them again or best yet call them. Companies love to hear from potential employees as it gives them impression that you are serious about working with them. Good luck!

Your expectation of turn-around time is probably unrealistic. As a potential employer, I never faulted personal initiative. I routinely ignored mailed or emailed resumes, but always gave an interview to somebody with the guts to follow up with a phone call. Of course, I was running a small business and larger companies do all their hiring through recruiters.

So, I say, folllow up, not just by email. Phone is good, stopping in can be even better. Harder to turn somebody away who is standing in your lobby! This all depends on the size and type of company, and whether they actually have openings.

I would send them another email tomorrow if you don't hear back by noon...or give them a call too. You want the job, show them. Just repeat what you said before and thank them for their time. They may have had a busy week and could not get to your email yet, but you've given them ample time for a response.

I think calling is best, emailing is so impersonal. If they already asked you if you could work weekends, they are already interested in you. The human resources office is probably busy, try calling.

Call them, and speak with the person who E-mailed you. Tell them that you are still interested. If nothing else, it should get some sort of response.
