they have already ruined Christmas by over commercialising it
and some towns don't even call it Christmas any more, for fear of upsetting certain people
so i wonder how long it will be before they find easter offensive also
why don't they just leave people to their own religion the same as others do, if they don't like it they don't have to celebrate it

The question should be, why is Christmas so commercialized - I suppose to make money, and someone must have figured since the wise men gave gifts to Jesus maybe we all should get gifts (doesn't really make sense, does it?)
Easter is actually the more important holiday, so I am glad it isn't so commercialized.

Easter is a time of looking to the death and the Resurrection of Christ.
We don't buy gifts to exchange. A big deal is made over the Easter bunny and baskets, but nothing as big as Christmas, the birth of Christ.

In Christmas, people buy gift, but not in Easter day. That's why the business people found that the Christmas day is more possible to commercialize than the Easter day.
beside, the snow season make it more touchy than the easter day.

The question should be, why is Christmas so commercialized - i assume to make money, and someone must have figured using actual fact the wise men gave provides to Jesus possibly all individuals ought to get provides (does no longer rather make adventure, does it?) Easter is amazingly the more advantageous major vacation, so i'm satisfied it is not any longer so commercialized.

Well maybe because for Easter you don't really buy a lot of presents, but during Christmas, the sales and the crowd at stores go up, up, up!

I think it depends on the country, for example in my country Guatemala........... Easter is the same as Christmas... both festivities have the same importance, maybe not in commercial matter, but in importance they do have the same

we exchange gifts because the Magi gave gifts to the Christ child. no one gave gifts when He died, so we don't either as a general rule. just Easter baskets and candy. but the stores are trying to commercialize Easter, too.

I t is not condusive to the general masses for buying gifts and toys, etc. One big Holiday is enough. People are still paying their bills from the year before. More likely they won't be done until the following big Holiday, then the proces starts all over again.
