Get all of the stuff you want from your hard drive.
Gather all of your CDs, containing programs and setup files for your hardware, you want to reinstall.
Put the the new operating system cd in the cd drive.
Reboot to the CD, format and setup and let 'er rip.
I assume that the new op system is Vista, that being true. You may be in for a not too pleasant experience, depending on the age of your computer hardware. Many of the older motherboards and cards don't have supported drivers. So, keep your credit card and car keys handy.

You can probably just run the setup from within Win2K and get the OS upgraded. If you want to install from scratch you just reformat when you start the new installation! Win2K will be erased with the reformat.
