I have a 4.8L in a silverado. I am wondering if I can put parts on it from a 5.3 or a 5.7L. If I buy a C5 intake or a LS1 throttle body, will they fit on my 4.8? I want to make sure before I go buying things.

If not... what will fit on my 4.8 from other engine blocks?

A 4.3 is nothing more than a 5.7 with two cylinders removed. They both share a 4.000" bore and a 3.480" stroke. the 5.3 bares no resemblance to either the 5.7 or 4.3 as all measurements are metric. The 5.3 figures out to be a 322 cu. in. engine.

5.3 Chevrolet Bore and stroke in millimeters and inches:
Bore 96 mm. -------------------- Bore 381.6
Stroke 92 mm. -------------------- Stroke 3.657

Many hp. parts for the 4.3 motor are in the new 2007 GM High Performance parts catalog. Parts such as 18 degree heads, aluminum block, two piece high rise intake and a single plane aluminum intake The catalog's available @ any Chevrolet dealer. The part number for the catalog is 19170580.

Most parts are interchangeable. However, they may not work properly without recalibrating the ECU.
