According to Scotts lawn advisory, you should cut in a different direction each time. They claim that it will improve the look of your lawn.

I don't realy know if cutting in the same direction everytime will make the yard any different. I change my mowing pattern often just to give it a different appearance. I end up with what appears to be squares and or triangles. It also stops me from being bored when I cut.

Well i do not know if that is true. My old house, i use to cut the grass in 1 direction and it use to be really nice looking. I heard if you change direction though, your yard would look much better.
