I really wanna be a model but someone told me that me being openly gay will hurt that
is it true??!?

My best friend is a gay model. He isn't with an agency but he's done alot of fashion shows in New York. From what he has told me, no one really cares what your sexual orientation is as long as you don't come off as feminine. Some agencies have turned him down because they wanted very masculine men, and my friend is a little bit on the femme side. But other than that, his sexuality hasn't been a problem, so I would go for it if I were you.
And just FYI, there's a misconception that all male models are gay, but that's not really true. Since the mid 90's, more and more heterosexual men have been getting into modelling. At fashion show rehearsals that I've been to, most of the male models dated the female models.

stereotypically, one could say that most male models are gay. none the less, if you openly admit you are gay and someone doesn't want you to model for them then, if I were you, I wouldn't want to model for them in the first place.

No, being gay will not hurt your modeling carreer.
My point of view is that being gay is not what makes someone. Being gay is just like being straight. It does not make up who you are. It is just who you perfer to have a romantic, sexual, serious relationship with.

maybe hurts your chances of getting the actual job, you know, people sometimes judge you on simple things as the fact that your gay which is totally wrong... however if you can demonstrate to them that you have the potential to be a good model i dont think your sexual preference should interfere with your success.... Uhmmmm. . .darlin' I don't know what fashion magazines you've been reading but there are so many gay fashion photographers, models and designers that it seems like it's rare to find one who's STRAIGHT. (Okay, so truthfully, I think it's more like a 50-50 split.)
