The initial justification was the pressence of WMD in Iraq. Now that was proven to be bull, the next justification was because Saddam was a bad guy. Is that justification really good enough? Then after "winning" the war, America persisted in establishing a democrary. Do you really think that is wise? Why do Americans think that once a democracy is established in that manner, peace and progress will follow? Don't they know that for democracy to work, the population must be ready for it? Do you really think that the Iraqis are ready for democracy?

"All we want for the Iraqii people is their freedom to decide their own governing system! what the hell is wrong with that?"

This I guess sums up why so many people round the world hates America. You go in with good intentions but it backfires on you. Why? Because you are like Big Momma telling what other people should do. Is Iraq your barbie doll to dress it up in any way that you want? You can't just put a democracy there and expect things to work, democracy needs to be born from a nation that values democracy, ie independent thought, opinions, the right to disagree with each other. Does Iraq have that?

I don't recall Iraqi's killing any Americans till we landed there.Obviously Saddam knew how to handle his people. Now that he is gone Iraq is in turmoil. The people in Iraq don't know how to live as free people. They need to be told what to do. When Saddam was in power we never read about car bombings, suicide attacks and Americans being killed.Bush made a mistake and American service men are paying for his mistake.Democracy in Iraq ? NEVER....

I firmly believe if any other country was doing what we did, and the US was watching, we would declare it a "Coup" and everyone would feel it morally wrong (and that is without the shame of Guantameno Bay). After 9/11 we had the support and sympathy of the world. We not only have lost that, but sadly worldwide countries are viewing the decisions our Government as those of the people...when the polls show how that is far from the truth.

I question if we ever will know all the real reasons of why we are at war in Iraq, but I don't feel it has anything to do with WMD or Saddam. If they wanted him out, they could have just taken him out without causing a civil war.

I could go on, and on, but what confuses me the most is how when Clinton was in office, there were independent investigations for land deals and cigars, and everyone was horrified. Now we are taking over countries, telling them how to govern, close associates to those in the White House are making millions and possibly billions, and no one is even trying to get to the bottom of this.

Maybe I am naive, but I didn't think this could ever happen in America. I also never thought an election could go to the loser either. I pray the madness stops soon, because I want OUR democracy back!

The first premis of your statement is an opinion. WMD's did exist and even if not found its clear that Saddam had the ability to make them and the ability to use them. No more thanks to the war. I realize that is not politically popular but its a reality.

Why do we persist in installing a democracy; simply because we believe in it; and its called freedom - which is a good thing. I guess we could have installed the next religous dictator and let them behead his opponents at will?

Democracy in America took well over ten years to create, and we've only been at it for a few years in Iraq. Why does everyone expect it to happen yesterday?

All I have to say is that why did the war HAVE to start? I know you're talking about the Iraq War, but why in the world does wars have to start? All it does is include selfish countries that fight over land. No matter where you go, from U.S.A. to Nepal, you will still be in planet earth. Why can't the world just be in peace, without any wars? But, mostly, all wars do is kill, kill people you know and love and people that you never heard of. Wars are just a cruel thing that cruel people start.

If Saddam being a bad guy was enough justification for war then they wouldn't have sold us a big pile of crap to begin with.

Democracy in Iraq became so important when their lie expired.

we shouldn't go to Iraq in the first hand. no WMD found in Iraq. And Saddam is gone. What we doing their now. we waiting for the country to establish itself so we can start sucking their oil.
What democracy are you talking about? We don't care about those people, we care about oil, and that Iran and Turkish and Syria want to take. you get it.
We're not spending our money for nothing. We will get it back. and Bush and his father are the first who going to make profit through their oil company.
