Space "Firsts":

The first person in space was Yuri Gagarin from the USSR. He launched on April 12, 1961 aboard the Vostok 1.

The first American in space was Alan Sheppard, who was launched into space aboard Mercury 3 on May 5, 1961.

Neil Alden Armstrong (1930- ) was the first person to walk on the moon. He piloted NASA's Apollo 11 mission, which took off on July 16, 1969.

Sorry, but Neil Armstrong was not the 2nd man in space.

I think you mean "IN" not "into". If you are talking about a "rocket aeroplane", then it would have been a German airman during WW-2. If you are talking about a "Rocket" going into space, then it would have been Yuri Gagarin, from the Soviet Union.
