I taught in high schools for many years. I can tell you that the things that teens think are funny are usually not very funny to the adults who must clean them up.
Here's a list of things not to use in a senior prank. They cause thousands of dollars of damage and can land you in a whole heap of trouble (especially if you're 18; you could end up owing lots of money, not being allowed to walk at graduation, and spending your summer doing 200 hours of community service):
spray paint/ paint of any kind
eggs
rocks
saws (chain or otherwise)
animals of any kind (cruel and expensive)
lawn killers
cars, tractors, etc.
superglue
cement
You get the idea.
If you're determined to do something, do something cute that people will take pictures of and save (not use for evidence in a court proceeding).
Secretly spread the word that all seniors should dress a certain way on the last day of classes. (all in red, like clowns, prom attire, whatever you think is funny)
Choose a tree on campus and decorate it with memorabilia, photos, balloons, banners, ribbons, etc.
Decorate all the sidewalks and the driveways with chalk. It washes off with a garden hose or the first rain storm.
Collect inexpensive beach balls/toys. Fill the yard with them for a surprise on the last day of school.

I read about this one prank, a couple of guys went on the front lawn of the school and got a couple of thousands of spoons and stuck them in the ground on the front lawn.
this one guy spray paints a big dick on the football field complete with a set of balls
Also, someone put a dead deer on top of the coke machine (i think another school did that to us though)
we just switched the letters on the sign out front (after all the other pranks we didn't have much freedom)
you can get chalk and write all over the campus
take several desks from inside and put them outside or on the roof.

My senior class hoisted an old commode we found at the city dump up on the roof of the courthouse and put a big sign on it saying, YOUR COUNTY SEAT. Of course we were from a small town. Might not get away with it in a bigger city. But we haven't been topped since. LOL

you shouldn't do any prank! why would you want to remember your senior year pulling a prank and getting in trouble just for 1 laugh.

You, or you and a bunch of your buddies all get your heads shaved! It'll be a shock to all the kids, easy to take care of, and best of all cool for the summer!

Just rearrange an entire classroom, or all classrooms in the school so they face a different direction.

Our seniors sprayed a huge penis on the football field. I never saw it but heard it from everyone else.

one we did at my school 2 years ago got all the seniors to pak their cars in what used to be the senior parking lot but now has been changed into the visitors lot where students arn't allowed to park

Put farm animals in the principles office.
Weld all the doors to the school shut from the inside, leave through a window.
