Usually it would only mean that people are jealous because you put in the work you see fit to get the results you want...and they are too lazy to do so. However, there are actual "overachievers" in this world, setting out simply to make other people look bad with their lack of knowledge. Dont be a jerk

It does not necessarily mean someone who tries to do things perfectly, it refers to someone who tries to do MANY things... such as someone who is on student gov't, in all of the plays, valedictorian, football player/cheerleader, etc. Perfection is usually just a quality these types strive for.
