If you have a quad-band GSM phone AND have international roaming on your cell phone plan it will work. However, be prepared for VERY high per-minutes billing rates. I pay over US $1.00 per minute in Europe.

It's MUCH cheaper to either buy a throw-away pre-paid phone to use over there OR get your phone unlocked and buy a prepaid SIM card at Dixon's or some similar retailer.

If you have a TDMA/CDMA or iDen phone it will not work. If you have a tri-band GSM phone it may work in some areas but coverage will be severly limited. If you have a dual-band GSM phone it won't work at all.
