if your fan isnt comming on that is your problem. it is worse in stop and go traffic because you arent circulating enough air to help cool it when you are going slow or stopped. been there, done that. i ran a jumper to a toggle switch on mine, but dont recommend this if you dont know what you are doing.

Also, don't forget the water pump. That can get expensive though, so replace your thermostat (don't forget the gasket) first. That usually runs about $5-10 for the parts. Have your radiator checked by a mechanic or someone specializing in radiators. They might be able to check your fan as well. Good luck! ;)

if when driving still gets hot it is not the fan, the engine still can be coold with the air entering the front side.. fan is only on at stop/go town driving situation..
remove your radiator cover (never open when hot...) look inside is there any orange sludge that maybe can cause the blockage..? if not perhap the problem is from your water-pump.. (start car and look under the car for any small water leaking/dropping..if got cahnge the water pump)

y first thought would be to check the fan belt, and see if it is loose, or even missing. After that have a mechanic check and see if you need a new thermostat.

well that depends on how mechanically and electrically knowledgable you are, i would say just take it to the shop, but there are ways to answer all those questions by yourself if you know what you are doing.
