Should they be in Boston, MA now? Why do people dislike them so much? Why were they in Boston before, and what happened to make Bostonians dislike them?

THE REASON THEY WERE IN BOSTON MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH WHAT THEY SAY ON THEIR SITE THEY ARE A SAFETY PATROL . THE RESON PEOPLE DISLIKE THEM IS THAT THEY WERE TRAINED TO MAKE CITIZENS ARRESTS AND SOME PEOPLE VIEWED THEM AS VIGILANTES AND FELT THAT CITIZENS SHOULD NOT BE MAKING ARRESTS THAT WAS BETTER LEFT TO THE POLICE OR PRIVATE SECURITY GUARDS. ALSO FIGURE IT PUBLICITY STUNT

when I met curtis in '86 nyc, the idea was a good one.
however many people looked to them as vigilantes.
the concept is sound, but again, it takes the help and support of everyone in a community in order to work.
unarmed civilians are not a crime fighting tool.
but if I were being attacked on a darkened street, it would be good to know that someone may help me or at least be a valuable witness.
what this country needs is not Guardian Angels.
what we need to do is start being more in touch with reality. we can't allow ourselves to be sheep to the wolves.
take an active stance in you communities. volunteer. get to know those around you. stop being a bystander.

Can't say about Boston but they were here a VERY brief time. They left claiming the people didn't support them although rumor says "they'll be back."
