I don't know about whether it'd be illegal or legal or not, but... am I able to mail 2 cans of easy cheese? I've done it before, but I've always lied and said it was something else. I want to mail 2 cans of it to my boyfriend for Easter. He loves it, but he lives in Wales, UK currently and they don't have it there. I would be so happy if I could surprise him with it. Let me know please!

If I'm not able to tell the truth and mail it, I'm still mailing it, so any suggestions on what I can say it is? :P

I know you can't send plants, because it's something about, not being able to give anything that can be planted and disturb the natural.. balance of things or whatever. Who knows. You can't plant cheese, I'm pretty certain of that :-P... and no I don't wanna give my bf a nasty cheesy surprise. :-)

I'm fairly sure it is legal and you should not lie about what's in it. There are dangers involved with transporting sealed cans by air, and you wouldn't want to give someone a nasty (and cheesy) surprise if it were to burst inflight!

Greetz from Wales!

If you have been told that it isn't legal to send that then I would suggest that you don't do it. Better to be safe than sorry. If you lie and try and send it you may be putting you self in a jam.

Call the local post office and ask them if you are able to send it to your boyfriend. If they say that you can then go ahead and do so and then you won't have to lie about what is in your package. By calling ahead you will save your self from any embarrassment.

Sending the cans may be a problem as they may explode during the shipment, that is reason enough to check.

Good luck.

Don't do it anymore. I did that for a while to my girlfriend back east. One time the can exploded on the plane. The authorities thought that it was a bomb and tracked me down. I told them it was a can of cheese but they didn't care. They arrested me and I spent 8 months in county jail. (I still walk bow-legged if you know what I mean). So do yourself a favor, do not send anything like that without telling the shipper what it is.

Prohibited items are not supposed to be mailed but when the mailing company do not detect the contents of the mail, it is valid as long as the item is not a contraband like cheese.

my guess as to the only reason it would not be legal is becuase the cans cannot get too hot or they will explode and could damage other things in the mail. if that happens and it is illegal, you are gonna be in big trouble. why don't you just call and ask if it is possible to mail them or not-- try fedex, ups, and the usps. cant hurt to see what they say.
