I believe thats a difference in culture. Our country was similar before the days of the early republic when our ancestors lived in puritan villages.

I'm sure they would say "Why are people in the West allowed to kill unborn children? Why are women in the West allowed to be topless on beaches? Why is pornography legal? Why is alcohol legal? Why do they allow other religions? Why do they let every common idiot vote? Why do they have free markets where corporations can take advantage of honest citizens? All these things are barbaric and decadent - why do they do it?" Why? Because we have different cultures.
