Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Al Sharpton, and many others have issued many anti-Wal-Mart statements. Don't they realize that their own consituents--even Democrats--shop there all the time?

Isn't the real root of their "hate" the fact that Wal-Mart does not cow tow to the unions that are the lifeblood of Democrats?

I guess they have a grand plan, but they look pretty silly to me.

Wal Mart is the whipping boy for dummycrats that want an easy target. Since the liberals have no plan to move forward they enjoy getting mike time and press time from the media by pretending to care for the average American. If Kerry, Kennedy and the gang really cared for the average American they could donate some of their real big bucks to build more openings for people to get ahead in life. Instead the dummycrats create entitlement programs and waste taxpayers money in duplicating services like happened with HUD and public assistance programs.

Because the democrats hate success through capitalism; especially if they feel the workers are getting less than they deserve. The way I see it; no one is holding a gun to the head of Wal-mart employees. If they want another job they are free to go get another one anywhere they feel they can make more money and get more benefits..

They hate businesses that have low prices. As for 8-dollars an hour, if you are 30-years old and still working at Wal-Mart, you deserve to be.

The generalization that "Democrats hate WalMart" is unfair - and probably unsubstantiated. Indeed, I'd think conservative capitalists should "hate" WalMart for the way it functions:
1) WalMart's unfair labor practices both here and abroad only help to further decimate the reputation of "big business" and corporate greed;
2) WalMart's entry into many communities is like a bull charging through a china shop. The company bullies its way in with promises to City Councils and municipal leaders of how it will enhance the local economy and create jobs. Instead, it puts many independently-owned retailers out of business, hires low-wage workers, and sucks up all the tax advantages numbskull politicians give away;
3) WalMart's sweat shops in China should make all of its customers ashamed to shop at a store that treats its workers so inhumanely, just so American customers can get "low prices - everyday" on plastic junk we don't even need;
4) WalMart routinely browbeats suppliers and vendors into selling at prices that ultimately bankrupt those suppliers and vendors;
5) WalMart rarely, if ever, joins a local Chamber of Commerce or becomes a good corporate citizen in the community. Instead, all of WalMart's profits go back to Bentonville instead of any portion of those profits being reinvested in the communities where WalMart stores are located;
6) WalMart sells a plethora of items that are ecologically unsafe; environmentally unfriendly; and petroleum-based, which only serves to encourage the destruction of the planet and upset the delicate balance of nature we need in order to sustain life on Earth;
7) WalMart descendants of Sam Walton are among the top ten richest people on Earth, worth billions of dollars. Why can't those family members contribute to the goodness of the planet, the various cultures of the countries in which they do business, and the salvation of our environment? Instead, they give generously to political parties that will cow-tow to WalMart's demands when it asks for tax breaks, special considerations, and political favors.
Frankly, anyone who lives on this good Earth should "hate WalMart" for the contributions it has made to the determent of our environment, our societies, our cultures, and our futures. They, along with countless other big businesses, have created a consumerism that rejects recycling efforts, human rights, and environmental concerns all for the sake of crass materialism. -RKO- 04/01/07

Would you like to work for $8 an hour and no benefits ? Unions try to get people higher wages with benefits. Of course you would'nt want that for yourself, would you ? So tell me, how do you know who shops at Walmart ?
