fish are neither amphibians nor reptiles. in terms of basic categories, they are on the same level as amphibians and reptiles. fish were on the planet before amphibians and reptiles, and amphibians evolved from fish. reptiles came later. biologically, fishes do not have limbs and cannot survive for long out of the water, because they cannot breathe air, as can amphibians.
