Almost all bands break up eventually. If you've ever been in a band you know it's like a dysfunctional family, and some of the biggest bands have been around for twenty plus years, so it's hard to remain friendly when so much booze, drugs, money, or anything else is being thrown around

People move on to the next new thing, the people in the band get older and people don't remember them, the band members die or fight.

its not that they fall. its just that in time, newer bands come, and the younger crowd likes them better.
with more time passing, a band knows that they cant ALWAYS b in a band, they have families and maybe other jobs.
they dont fall or r forgotten, theyre just not as into getting 'popular' as they were 30 years before

a lot of them lose their hearing from all the loud music (seriously). Other's just run out of steam. There are only just so many good songs in them. Also, musicians are a strange bunch, and there are lots and lots of egotists there. Getting them to work in a group is often very difficult.

Success makes it hard to be creative. People often use art as an outlet for there issues. Once they become successful or happy, it seems like it would be easy to lose the drive.
