The Long Walk by Steven King.

Basically it is a morbid story about a group of 100 young men that join this contest to walk until there is only one left standing. They walk over 200 miles without any breaks and it is very fascinating. The relationships that develop, the mind games, the contest & prize at the end.
One of the best novels I have ever read & I highly recommend it to anyone.

I am reading one now. It's called 'The Same Sweet Girls' and it's about these six women who have known each other since high school and they formed a club called The Same Sweet Girls. The book goes back and forth from the time they were in school to present. They are all in their fifties now. It is a real good book. The author is Cassandra King.
