Different Types of Discharge

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

You dont have to worry its normal.

depends. how far along are you? if you're close to term, it could be the mucous plug at the cervical opening is starting to come out. if you're not that close to term, it could still be the same thing. i had the same thing happen a couple of times in the week or two before my daughter was born. when the baby turns head down, it puts a lot of pressure on the cervix, and could cause you to lose some of that plug. if you get great big goops of snot looking stuff that may or may not be tinged with blood, call the dr. RIGHT AWAY. that would probably be the whole plug coming out, and if you're not far enough along to deliver, it could mean trouble. if the baby is still active, it's probably o.k., but if you notice at any time that you haven't felt the baby move in a while and if you can't get the baby to move, call the dr. RIGHT AWAY. any time that you are the least little bit concerned about something with your pregnancy, call the doc. there are so many different symptoms that women have during different stages of pregnancy, that it's almost impossible for a doctor to give you a list of all of them. all women have different symptoms, so while i feel like you don't have anything to worry about because i had what I THINK is the same thing happen to me, don't take it as a definitive, "everything's hunky-dory, don't worry". the best thing you can to is ask your doctor. at the very least, if it turns out i'm right, it'll ease your mind a lot more to hear it from a medical professional. i don't recommend the "wait and see" way of dealing with this question, if you're worried about whether the baby is o.k. or not.

Early in pregnancy spotting is normal. It's bright red blood you should be concerned about.

Just after (or the day after) having intercourse or being examined by the doc or midwife, a pregnant woman might also notice some brown or pink discharge.

If you are very late in pregnancy this could also be part of the mucus plug which sometimes comes out very gradually for women. It just means delivery day is coming soon.

No worries! That slightly brown discharge might just be some old blood.

Sometimes, this hjust happens. If it happens a lot, consult a gynocologist...otherwise, just sit comfortably knowing that your body is taking care of itself.

yup, this is normal. especially since you had sex. The cervix is getting swollen and filled with blood vessels, so anything that goes near it might cause you to bleed a little bit. also, it might happen if you have an interal exam...if you bleed red blood you should call your doctor right away, or if you have a lot of pain

How pregnant are you? If it's early, it's probably nothing, but you should call anyway. If you're in late pregnancy, it could be from getting checked or having sex.

Go see the doctor. As long as there isn't any heavy bleeding or clots you should be ok.
