Even if it was true, why would it only show in India? The whole world would see it.
HOWEVER, there is no scientific evidence, research, observations, or indications that the moon will crack of its own accord. It could be hit by a large comet, but the moon is fairly large and it would take something as large as Ceres to do anything like that. And anything that large we would have seen by now, especially if it was in an orbit bringing it closer to the moon (and therefore to us).
But there are always people that love to start panic rumours like that (but where you get that its going to show in India is beyond me).
Maybe its going to be a movie that shows in India?

I think you are thinking of a movie that recently appeared on the sci-fi channel. As far as India is concerned, I have no idea what you mean, if the moon did crack or whatever, it would be as readily visible anywhere on the earth as it would in India.

The moon is slowly orbiting away from the Earth (6 inches per year I think) so I do not see how it can happen.

Yes. Tidal forces from gravity with the earth will eventually destroy the moon. This will take a while however. (As in billions of years) I don't know what your refernece to india was about.
