this is for school work.......i need help!

You are going on vacation to a beach resort, for two weeks. You know they have a hotspot there. First you thought it would be a bad idea to take along your notebook. Now you are now thinking it would be good to have it, to be able to check your e-mail, especially since hardly anyone will know where you are. You need to get ready before going away. Prepare a summary of the requirements for connecting to hotspots.

90 percent of the laptops today already have a wireless chip inside of them that can detect any wireless connection signal from hotspots. Most hotspots will require that you sign up at their location (coffee shops, hotels, airports) for Wi-Fi internet access by a hourly charge, monthly, or a day rate with your own username and password once you sign up.

However, there are areas that offer Free Wi-Fi internet access hotspots, meaning there are no fees involved. Internet access is totally free. You laptop will connect wirelessly and there is no need for a username and password to get a wireless signal from that location.

If you have a older laptop more than six years ago, then check your laptop to see if you have a Wi-Fi chip inside of it to connect wirelessly to the internet. If you don't have that inside your laptop then you would have to buy a PC Wi-Fi Card for your laptop.
