that is hilarious!
I used to work at a nursing home so I have a lot of funny stories to tell. One man who had alzheimers thought I was his wife when I went to check on him at 1am to make sure he didn't mess the bed. He tried to talk me into, uh, 'stuff' but I said "I am so sorry but I have such a headache, dear. Tomorrow, for sure! OK?" and he smiled and said "ok dear".

Ha! That's a hoot. My dad calls me every Saturday--we live 750 miles apart--and he's 78. He told me last week that he didn't have any doctor's appointments. I said, "That's great," to which Daddy replied, " I kind of miss them. They're beginning to be my social life."

lol........Your mom sounds like a firecracker, which is great.....I'm sorry to hear about the stroke, my mom had one last summer, and I know it can be tough. My moms short term memory will never be the same. I hope your mom fares better.
