Because some people want the unabtainable. they are even more attracted to someone they cant have. it is like a test to see if they can change a person's sexuality. if they win? they get to break someones heart and leave them confused and hurt.

K. Well, I am straight. I do not try to "correct" people who are homosexual. I have a friend...Actually, a few friends who are bi sexual (none gay) and Im completely fine with it. But up until this year, I had never seen a gay person...At least, acting gay. This year, I have seen so many gay acts, and it was kind of creepy at first, because I was very un used to this. Im still trying to get used to it, but Im feeling alot more comfortable around gays now. Some people are just never OK with it, but it's very rude to try and "correct" someone. There is nothing wrong with being gay, it's completely normal. It's basically just like being straight. It just isnt...

Wow, where to start. I really don't know much at all about the "gay" lifestyle ,please forgive me if I'm not politically correct, I'm not up to snuff. I am 56, was raised in a heterosexual, 2 parent family with one brother. I was never exposed to gay people ,and if I did I didn't know they were gay, but they don't call me Gullibles travels for nothing :) I'm not dumb, just like a big golden retriever , running around loving everyone. I may be a Christian but I am not judging others, that is not my job. We do have beliefs that we get from the Bible, some believe in it some translate it differently,, but I have no idea what it is like to be gay. I imagine most Christians bash on gays, I don't, not to say that I personally approve of gay sexual behavior, but that is not my decision to make except for myself. I always used to ask myself as my babes were growing up if one came to me and told me they were gay, I would love them anyhow. To not approve of ones behavior, doesn't mean you can't love the person. Children have poor behavior many times, but parents still love them.

Many straight people don't try to make gays straight. The ones I've met who are obsessed with gays are radically religious and/or dealing with their own confusing feelings and thoughts or behavior about homosexuality. One of the most messed up people I met was a woman who tried so hard to be friends with me, but seemed so upset about it! Finally, she admitted that before she married, she had had a homosexual relationship with a woman (her words), and couldn't get over the guilt (she was very religious as well). It explained why she had such mixed feelings about being friends with me. I felt very sorry for her, since she was so consumed with guilt over what she had done, and was filled with fear about being discovered. Guilt, shame, and fear, as well as anger and rage, can make people do really crazy things...

My ex boyfriend is straight, and when he found about about my girlfriend and me the first thing he said was i am so sorry, you can call the minister and my church and he can cure you. yes, cure me. some people think being gay is like being sick, some colds are worse than others, but you can get over it with the right help. They think being gay is bad because its different and they are the right ones.

In fairness, this site always has questions from gay guys about "how do I seduce a straight guy". So we can all be idiots, I guess.

It's an undercover way to find out about the gay "lifestyle" without seeming interested.

They think they're the 'normal' ones and we're not, and they think that they have to 'correct' us. To a lot of them, they think they're doing a good deed by 'fixing' something they see as being 'broken'. Besides, so many of them see homosexuality as a sin, so they think they're 'saving our souls'.
