20-30 years is not too uncommon for a well cared for goldfish (either common or fancy). Plenty of them have been documented well above that and even exceeding 50 years.

The oldest gold fish on record was 48 (goldie from England) A fair fish a common comet.
Average age of a gold fish is usually 20 years. However as you can see they can live much longer. It depends on the lineage of your particular fish.
Koi and carp can exceed 70 years in captivity.
Since all gold fish originated from the carp family, who really knows.
You must be taking good care of your fish. Koodos to you keep up the good work!

It depends on the tank conditions. If the water is kept maintained constantly or at least on schedule, then your fish is more likeley to live longer. Along with balanced nutrition and proper care if disease should arise, it'r almost perfect. Congrats you are a great fish owner. Even better if you keep it in a large enough tank.
