for my project i have to find at least 15 gang names in plainfield N.J anyone know any

Yes, there are a lot of them.
Check the link, New Jersey is listed there.
Some of these gangs are national and even international. You could always contact your local law enforcement department for particulars.

Call the non-emergency police number and ask to speak to the gang task force. Explain to them you're doing a school project and ask them for advice on finding out the names.
