Latent heat of fusion of ice is 80 calories approx. per gram and so 1.0 kg will remove 80,000 calories approximately.

The latent heat of melting of ice at 0 degree C to 0 degree water is 336000 J / kg
Hence 1.00 kg of ice will remove 336000 J of heat as it melts.
