I'm a 20 year old Southern belle from Georgia and even though my Yankee friends have brought this topic up with me before, I was just wondering what everyone thought about us.

I don't think there's any need for derogatory comments. It's not a question to start an argument, even though a lot of folks on here seem to like to argue. So please, no hateful remarks or things said in a mean way. Thank you!

I, too, am a southern belle, but living in the north.
Princess Fergie spent some time in the south and stated that she didn't like the south, didn't like southern cooking, especially grits and okra; but if it would make southerners feel better she would go home and date one of her cousins.
I heard that on the radio. Wonder who pissed her off?

I don't think they are southern belles. Most of the sourthern women I have met or seen have an annoying accent and teeth missing.
