Looking at the moon from North America I can point to an apparent top side and bottom side. Would it look upside down from the Southern Hemisphere?

Hi Kevin!

I have had the chance to see the full moon from both Northern and Southern hemispheres, and you are correct. It does look "upside down" (To those used to seeing it Northern "rightside up.")

In the Northern hemisphere, we see the Man in the Moon and the Lady in the Moon. (The precise features that make these lunar personages are set out in Wikipedia and many other internet sites.)

Those in the Southern Hemisphere see the Boy in the Moon. They also see a different Man in the Moon. This Southern Man in the Moon has a curious "pensive" look, as though peering out of the corner of his eye.

great question! at the beginning, the Moon and solar and planets would be in the Northern sky quite of the Southern sky. Now think of which you're watching the Moon, right here in the Northern hemisphere, whilst it fairly is extreme in the sky. Spin around one hundred eighty levels and inspect the Moon lower back. This time you will would desire to lean your head before and, confident, that is going to look upside-down. it somewhat is the way it appears that evidently for the time of Australia!

Yes, as a matter of fact it will also look upside down from our country here in America at certain times of the year, so it will look right side up from Australia at certain times of the year also.

Actually, it is the right way up for us in Australia. Yours is the upside down view :-)

Well it would look "upside down" they would see it rotated 180 degrees from the way we see it. But I think that they think that we see it up side down.
