I don't think so. I'm pretty sure there is not enough interest in the sport to have a workable team. Of course, there will be people who will try to work out a USA team but, they cannot play at the level of the other teams. Even Bermuda may give them a hard time. USA just isn't a cricket country.

I don't know what the state of domestic cricket is in the States, but I don't think they're building a side. The fact that they're playing ex-West Indian cricketers like Faoud Bacchus, Kallicharan's brother, and Clayton Lambert (The first two are well in their fifties!!) in the US team says it all.
I'd try and establish a college league, arrange regular tours of the nearby West Indian Islands and play regular matches against Canada and Bermuda as a way of 'building' a team.

yes usa does have a cricket team but its pretty much filled with amatuers
and i dont think they have a chance of qualifiying for the world cup 2011
Mainstream usa dont follow cricket and people who do follow are generally foriegners living in states
therefore i dont see usa qualifiying for the world cup in 2011

No. First let this World Cup finish. Then we will think of the next World Cup.

Ummm I don't think so...im pretty sure more than 75% of the people here dunno what that is. If more people get to know about it and little clubs start forming and if they're competitive enough to win one of those "minnow" tournaments then Im pretty sure they can enter the world cup. I think they're suspended by the ICC for something. Where you from? East coast? Just wonderig
