I think the only people who actually watch cricket in the US are ex-pats from traditional cricket countries like England, India, West Indies, etc. This can be said about the Middle East as well. In Kuwait ,for example, the club cricket scene is dominated by Indians, Pakistanis and Sri Lankans! Hardly any Arabs play the game.If you look at the make-up of the Canadian,US teams, they are mostly foreigners too.

Mostly families who come from England, the Caribbean, Africa, India, Pakistan, and Austrailia sit and watch cricket in America. Most Americans like to watch Baseball which is derived from cricket which is more fast paced. Cricket matches can last for days sometimes and Americans dont like to wait long for the out come of the matches...lol..we have short attention spans...my family is from the west indies and right now i cant get my dad to budge from the tv while the world cup is on...lol

I don't follow cricket, and although I know what it is, not too many people do. I think people don;t follow it just because it hasn't really caught in in the US. It is kind of the same concept how football is a WIDELY followed sport here but in other countries people don't even know that it's different from soccer.

To be honest, I don't even know what cricket IS (something to do with a bat, maybe??). I think the reason Americans don't watch it is it seems old-fashioned, and they have more exciting and intense games like football to watch. Baseball, which is similar to cricket (I think...) is watched because it originated here so Americans feel more connected to it, if you get what I mean.
