No. There are 6 teams fighting for 2 spots, and Carolina is the last team. There only chance is to win all of their last 4 games, and hope 5 other teams lose all their games. But guess what? Those other 5 teams play each other a lot in their final games guaranteeing one of them gets a win, or worse, a 3 point OT win.

History is about to be made. The first time the 2 teams in the Stanley Cup Finals both fail to qualify the following year.

I doubt it. It's so ironic that both the Edmonton Oilers and the Hurricanes both (most likely) will miss the playoffs. I mean, a lot has happened to both of these teams.

What annoys me is how people critisize them both for not making the playoffs though when there are countless excuses provided.

The streak they've been on there is no way. The Hurricanes have played badly in thier last few games and wont be able to make it up.

No, they've shot themselves in their collective feet by losing like they have lately, and they're going to need some help now to get in.

I wish. however, at this point I think we're getting a decent draft pick. Pretty sad for a team that people thought could repeat at the beginning of the year...
