The orbital path that Earth takes while traveling around the Sun has been termed a "Revolution". The earth REVOLVES around the Sun. It takes one year, 365 earth days, or 365 times of the Earth 'ROTATING' on its own axis to make one Revolution. This is not exact enough, it's off by 6 hours so we add Feb 29th to the calendar every four years to make up for it.

Rotation is when the Earth spins in its own axis, causing day and night. Revolution is when the Earth orbits around the Sun, causing the year.
So the answer to your question is revolve.

The answer you seek is "revolve." To revolve is to move in a circular motion around an object. To rotate is meerly to turn without moving from one's current position. Basically, think of it this way, revolving is to run around in circles. Rotating is to spin around. To help you further, just remember that revolving is when you actually move away, while rotating is just staying in one place while spinning.
