I thought the same thing (about it just filling out the series). I thought there would be some sort of clue but there wasn't anything there. I have pretty much given up on Lost.
I did think it was interesting that they showed clips of Boon and Shannon.

It wasn't the best episode, but it made a change from focusing, say on Jack, and the twist at the end with them being only temporarily paralysed and so buried alive was so creepy. And I liked it where she said paralysed and Hurley thought she said Paulos lies and Sawyer thought she said power lines, that was quite clever.Prehaps we will see the significance of this later on in the show as everything seems to be linked or important in some way, we will have to wait and find out!

A moderate amount of "hoopla" was made when actress Kiele Sanchez joined the cast, but her character was never developed, and she had the opportunity to work in another new series, "Football Wives", now in production. This episode was a way to remove her from the cast.

If anything, it gave us more character development.
Look how Sawyer has changed- throwing away $8 million in diamonds.
It showed us how Charlie is trying to redeem himself with death closing in on him (confessing to Sun).
It also showed us how Sun is not one to be messed with. The first season, they portrayed her as a meek Korean wife, helpless and powerless under her husband. During the 3rd season, she has killed a woman and smacked Sawyer.
It also showed us that while Locke may be the "soul" of the island, Hurley may be the "heart." How many eulogies has Hurley delivered?

It was really irrelevant. Unless in some way they killed a bad guy. And they weren't the real bad ones. You know how Lost always makes us think one thing and it turns out diffrent.

I hated how they took characters that weve never seen b4 and acted like viewers really cared about them.lol That episode really bored me. Keep it with the caracters we already know I say.
