u can know by the end product of glucose
1-at oxygen presence aerobic respiration occurs and glucose molecule enters in glycolysis and give two molecules of pyruvic acid as end product and glucose molecule gives 8 molecules of ATP
2-at the absence of oxygen anaerobic respiration occurs and glucose molecule give two ,olecules of lactic acid as end product and glucose molecule gives 2 molecules of ATP

well, believe it or not, both aerobic and anaerobic respiration are occur at the same..., while one is occurring, so is the other, we need both to survive
