I added an extra disk drive for more memory and want to move some of the files to that new drive. I have an eMachines comp with Microsoft XP Home Ed.

Open a "My Computer" window that show the C drive. Open another that shows the D drive. Drag the files (or whole folders) from the C drive to the D drive.

Note that you can move data files, such as pictures, music, videos, etc. But if you move a program between drives, the program will probably stop working. There are settings put on the computer during the install of the program that prevent you from being able to move them. (Stops you from illegally copying programs).

Highlight all that you want to send to D drive then drag them to D drive make the stuff small to send all it makes it better that way.
