Because selling organs is illegal and if it were legal it would start all sorts of bad things, like people being killed for their organs. Some people would allow themselves to be killed because their families would be garunteed the money their organs would bring. Also families would begin charging outragous amounts that people who needed the organs couldn't pay. Donors should do just that. Donate. Putting a price on organs would be a nightmare.

This isn't funny actually. My husband needs a kidney transplant, he's been on the list for 1 year, 5 more left.

Does it match a recipient?....is it a healthy kidney? Are you a healthy person to sell your kidney?....Some questions you should know and consider before selling your kidney.

Because the laws as currently applied do not permit the sale of an organ. Too many ethical problems with removal and reasons behind it.

But if they legalize selling body parts then there are going to be some showing up that were stolen from corpses and such

That I don't know, other than being a post mortem donor. What would you do if your remaining kidney conks out? Sadly, I have seen that happen.
