I got a 210 litre tank but I only have lots of small filters for 50 litre tanks. Can I use lots of small filters in the big tank?
Also do i need an air stone?

Air stones are not essential at all.

Not only is it ok to have several smaller filters, but in does ave some advantages. If one were to break, you would still have filtration until you could replace the broken one. Also, you can clean them on a rotating basis clean one each week and never significantly impact your cycle. Both of those are really good reasons to have several smaller filters instead of one large filter.

First off, many so called "aquarium experts" say its beneficial to have many smaller filters instead of one giant filter. It is true that having several smaller filters has its benefits but only when there are a few larger filters that will reach the deeper ends of the aquarium. Think about it this way, you have a tank that is about 3 feet deep, and you have a few filters that only reach a few inches deep and then you have a filter that reaches 2 feet deep. Which one is going to suck in more waste. Keep in mind, most of the waste in your tank is on the bottom of you tank resting around the substrate(gravel). So it is best to have one large filter (propper size for your tank) and 1 or 2 smaller filters to just add air or pick up small things your large filter missed.

Lots of small filters are a big advantage.
when cleaning the filters, only clean one of them at a time and you will not lose very much biological filtration.
It is the boilogical filtration that gets rid of Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate which are toxic to fish and inverts and can supply food for unwanted algae.
You will not need an air stone because those filters should supply more than enough cerculation (DISOLVED OXYGEN) to your tank.
You can use an air stone if you like for a decoration.

The small filters will work use 4 or 5 and I recommend air stones because my fish seem to do better with them.
