Its early spring and his grass is completely dry, pale brown dead looking and its creeping into my nice green lawn.

I don't know that this will work- But you could try pounding some bender-board type edging into the ground between your lawn and his. And maybe even start a flower bed there.

Zoysia grass infiltrates by bending over of the blades and "planting" itself. You will need to put in some type of barrier (plastic edging, wood, bricks) to keep it from coming into your lawn.
