I actually beleive a Top hat and tails to the supermarket would be quite refreshing. Soon we will see women in evening gowns at 9 am heading for the grocery store. They will have good music playing and yummy treats to taste. Gracery shopping will go from a chore to a delight!!! Yes I say wear the top hat and tails

No! "Dress for Success" is my motto, even at the supermarket. It's just very hard finding a parking spot for a 20's Bugatti limo

It's perfectly acceptable to dress formally when shopping for tasty tidbits like artichokes, white asparagus, and kale, but never when buying any fruit or vegetable routinely found in fast-food chain salads.

If you were on your way to a wedding/funeral or other function, perfectly acceptable
Might get a funny look or two from the shall we say "lesser dressed" folks in Walmart.
Sometimes, you gotta do, what you gotta do.

I wore my prom dress to Wal-Mart because the batteries died in my camera and I was low on film. It was embarrassing.
