You can get any ink marks out of most anything by rubbing the pen marks with plain old rubbing alcohol. And don't believe it when people tell you to use nail polish remover, as this will often harm what you are trying to get the ink out of. Alcohol won't harm anything and it works on all inks, permanent and even sharpie.

This really depends on what type of leather it is.

If it is on a pigmented leather then the first thing you should try is an ink stick. The fresher the ink the more chance you have of removing it. It is a good idea to have one in your house if you have a pale leather and children!!!!

You should also be using a good quality leather protector on a pale suite. This will act like a 'scotchgard' and will make any more mishaps easier to clean off.
If an ink stick doesn't work a solvent based remover will need to be used and it may also remove finish and pigment so is best left to the experts.

Hairspray sometimes works but can also make the matter far worse as it can spread the ink over a bigger area. Nail varnish remover or any other solvents will remove the finish and pigment which will need replacing.

DO NOT USE Baby wipes as they are about the worst thing you can use on a leather as they break down the finish and will eventually ruin it.

Please do not try milk it is a silly idea that this will work and will leave sticky residues on the surface which will help to break down the finish

If the ink is on an aniline style, there is nothing that will remove it because the ink will have re-dyed the leather. It may dissipate over time with cleaning and protecting.

Old ink will be harder to remove than new ink and may mean resorting to solvents which will also remove the finish. This is probably best left to the experts.

Silicones are the worst thing to use on leather as they will form a coating on the surface of the leather which will not allow any moisture to get to the leather and will eventually break all the finish down and make it crack. Leather needs water and should not be protected against it.

Products on QVC are made by people who do not know about leather and so should not be recommended for this purpose.

I had leather seats in an car I used to have and had a pen explode right on the front passenger seat. Tried a few things, then tried straight WHISK laundry detergent in a tiny amount, rubbing gently with an old towel until gone. I had a big spill, so I frequently changed the section of towel to a fresh part as to not keep smudging the ink around. Took some effort, but worked like a charm!

I own and operate a residential cleaning service and one of my customers had a Mr. Clean Eraser sponge on his sink. I wipe stoves down, but I do not scrub and if I do, its extra. Well, while cleaning my customer's stove, I decided to use the Eraser and was shocked at how much grime came off the stove. Please do not get my wrong, this was normal wear on a stove that gets a lot of use, but what I thought had to be scrubbed off, came right off with the Mr. Clean Eraser that is available in any cleaning aisle of any grocery or department store for $2.99 or less. Now The Eraser is a part of my cleaning materials. The packaging says its great for bathroom, kitchen, and the living room, although it does not specially say furniture. Its does suggest that as with any product, test on an inconspicuous spot of the area that is to be cleaned. They also suggest that you visit www.mrclean.com for more cleaning ideas. the packaging says the Eraser is not recommended for high gloss, polished, dark brushed, satin, faux/polished wood or stainless steel.
Its easy to use and is also reuseable. I am so glad that my customer introduced me to the Eraser.
I hope this helps remove ink from Tan leather.

Happy cleaning!

Hair Spray and a cold damp cloth! Spray the mark, rub it in with your finger, rub with damp cloth. Works for pen marks on clothes also!
