It's a frequently-used rhetorical device. Someone will spout off a lot of left-wing drivel that follows the Communist Party line from A to Z. And then, at the end, they'll say, "You know; I'm really very conservative at heart. It's just that I don't like what conservatives are doing". Or they'll say, "I've actually been a registered Republican for years. But I didn't leave the party; the party left me". It's obviously a lot of bull. The people doing this are parlor pinks who are lying about their backgrounds. So is this a rhetorical trick that they are teaching at lefty Ministries of Truth? Or are the practitioners acting on their own? Are they schizophrenic?

Well, because the Neo-cons have taken over the Republican party...Bush and all his people are Neo-cons themselves.

Neo-con: (def) The prefix neo- refers to two ways in which neoconservatism was new. Many of the movement's founders, originally liberals, Democrats or from Socialist backgrounds, were new to conservatism.

They spend like socialists, only with much different priorities such as wars and world-domination. You have taken all of our New World Order trash for us...they didn't get what they wanted out of the Dems...so they "flip-flopped".

I should thank you for it...but I don't understand why you let your party get hijacked.

What research did you do to come to the conclusion that "The people doing this are parlor pinks who are lying about their backgrounds"?

This is the Internet buddy. You have people from all sides pretending to be from the other side spouting off garbage that could only be false.

No self respecting liberal I know would ever disguise themselves as a conservative or a republican. What possible reason could there be to do that? And why would they want to?

What is all this about?
Are you nuts?
Sure, the Clintons, Obama, Pelosi are 'disguised' conservatives.
The only politician who is in 'disguise' is Giuliani.

they have no shame and are firmly comitted to the feel good, i feel your pain clinton type politics. its a ridculous idea that the government can take care of you better than you can take care of yourself and has led to the installation of hundreds of failed tax and spend schemes. the purpose of disguising themselves is the attempt to drum up popular support for doomed and ridiculous ideas like cut and run and 757 gate. the idea for the liberals is...if one of your own buys into it, than you will to...kind of a dumb idea but with some people it works.

If liberal politicians told everyone exactly what they think, the politicians would not get elected.
