Some of my great-grandfathers were Kings of England hundreds of years ago and the Queen is a cousin of mine, so I am a member of that family, right? As I am related to almost every member of that family.

No, because too many generations separate you from the common ancestor you share with them. If you were an untitled grandchild or maybe even great-grandchild of a king then yes, but after hundreds of years your royal blood has been diluted beyond recognition. After hundreds of years there are thousands or tens of thousands of people with as much royal blood as you - surely the royal family does not have that many members. The Queen is not your cousin as her parents were not your aunt and uncle, she is more like a fifteenth cousin ten times removed.
Sorry to disappoint you, though you're still luckier than most if you have such a detailed family tree available.

The "royal family" consists of related persons realistically "in line for the throne"
How many people would have to die for you to be next in line for the throne? Were you invited to any royal family function?
