My friend's fish looks like it has a severe case of catarayx.. any cure or remedy?

it looks so bad but you just take a fish to a redneck vet, they wouldn't know what to do, so what can i do, i imagine it hurts.

That can be caused by several things actually. The most common is a bacterial infection of the inner eye that would need to be treated with a good antibiotic. Maracyn 2 is a good choice for this treatment. If it appears to be on the surface of the eye instead of deep in it, it could be either bacterial or protozoan. For the protozoa use a anti-parasite medication like Paracide or Clout. Those cover the vast majority of possibilities.
