IANAL.

Depends on:

- exactly what you did
- when you did it
- how many times you did it
- where you did it
- who was affected
- how much damage you caused
- if you are caught
- what they decide to charge you with

No longer being in the country doesn't matter; when they find you, they'll bring you back.

Forgery in the first degree in Georgia has a penalty of one year to ten years. O.C.G.A. § 16-9-1. Forgery in the second degree has a penalty of one to five years. O.C.G.A. § 16-9-2.

The statute of limitations for felonies in Georgia is 4 years. O.C. G. A. § 17-3-2.2
