Lebron James... no doubt about it. Just watch him play in person. There is no one like him.

King James will play a role in changing the NBA. Kobe has a role of changing the NBA. But the ONE will most likely be Greg Oden, whenever he matures and develops as a player and a person. He is 7'0 feet tall and has all the skills and potential to be great on both ends of the floor (offense and defense). Right now the NBA is a guards game, which can be attributed to the greastest of all time Michael Jordan. There are very few quality big men (Tim Duncan, Shaq (is old), Kevin Garnett, Yao) so guards dominate. Players like Nash, Kobe, Wade, Lebron, Iverson are the centerpiece of the NBA and are very marketable. History shows that a dominate big man has the potential to change the game drastically. Wilt Chamberlian, Bill Russell, Kareem, Dave Cowens, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon. None of these centers has had the impact on the NBA like Chamberlain, Russell and Kareem. All 3 required the NBA to adjust rules, adjust defenses, increase salaries (Kareem was in the middle of a bidding war b/t the NBA and the ABA). Greg Oden will bring about change. He will turn a guard game into a big man's game. You will need a dominate inside player in order to compete with whatever team he plays against. He is the prototypical center and the prototype of dominance for years to come in the NBA (depending on when he enters the draft).

LeBron James. He is a threat from anywhere on the court. No team has a legitimate answer for him, and hes only 22. The main reason he will change the NBA forever is because he will set a new bar for individual skill and will be so good that teams will have to rewrite the playbooks just to try to contain him. He will be unmatched and unbelieveable when he hits his prime and will be the most amazing player the world has ever seen.

This is a really good question. But thinking about it for a second, who ever it is would have to change it from the game we know it now to a better game than we've ever seen.

Only a select few have transcended our sport to greater status...Mikan, Russell, Chamberlain, West (NBA logo), Abdul-Jabbar, Magic, Larry, Michael.

Personally I dont think we've seen that person yet...but he's coming.

I would like to see a Head Coach do it. The 1st female Head Coach in the NBA, and if that person is successful that would be such a person.

Dirk Nowitzki

People have fallen in love with the idea that a 7-footer can knock down the 3, and handle the ball like a guard.

Honorable mention to Yao Ming, who is a polished big man for someone so big. Also dispelling the myth that all asians are short! ;)
