YES! I was on a day off and watching the Today Show with Katie Couric and Matt Lauer when the first and second planes hit...it was in the backround of the news,...so I actually saw it live before they did. i was stunned....in a frenzy calls were made and within mionutes via phone friends and relatives across the country were alerted......I remember my mouth falling open whn the fiorst plane hit...and the newscasters kept talking, thonot for more than a bout 30 seconds..then all attention was on New York.....I saw history in the making....i cried. I saw my therapist that day.....I have relatives who are firefighters in that area......I also saw Ruby shoot Oswald.....I was 10.......on my birthday that year, i had the old black and white on and my party had not started yet..my 10th birthday...martin luther King was giving his speach "I have a dream"....I misted up and was so proud that i got to see this, as an avid student, it made me cry and think a LOT......I still consider it the best birthday gift i ever got.
I know this is far more than you wanted..however i feel blessed that i have witnessed these and other events that watermark our history......and I am sure that there will be more.....
Thanks
Lioncourt

I was at home, alone, separated, going through a painful divorce. Never turned on the TV or radio; stopped listening to music; didn't go out, blah blah. My phone rang; I answered. It was my husband, who hadn't spoken to me in weeks. He was so excited and wrought up, and he told me to turn on the TV, and we were on the phone together when the second tower was struck. The only other time he called after that was to tell me about the sniper shootings. It was the last time he ever called me; we were divorced 3 months later. To this day I can't separate the awful tragedies of those months.

I lived in AZ at the time, and I was getting ready for work. I saw the news report and thought it was a movie trailer, until I heard the urgency and panic in the reporters voice. I will never forget that day.

I undergo in ideas i became in my classification in grade 5, i think of it became french classification, and it became around 2 hours after it happened. the intercom went on and became all like "the twin towers in long island has purely been struck down and a great style of people died" all and sundry became all like what the hell is the twin towers? (cuz we've been youthful, you recognize) then we had to stand for a minute of silence, then whilst we went domicile that nighttime we observed it on television on each chanel. and that is not even interior the states. yup, it became a particularly eventful day.

At home, I'd just got home for lunch and was actually watching it happen on the news. It was unbelievable when I watched the second plane fly into the other tower. I was gobsmacked.

I totally remember this!!!
I was in my third grade class and I was paying the teacher five bucks for my super crazy awesomely amazing tie-dye shirt, and then this other teacher came in and asked my teacher if she heard about the towers during lunch and that's when I heard.
Not surprisingly, I only remember because I loved that shirt!!
Still fits. I'm gonna wear it when I go out sometime.

I was 8 years old and I was over at my grandmas house in the kitchen, eating cereal and getting ready for school and my grandma always listens to the radio in the morning and she started crying and I had no idea what was going on at the time..That's where I was at.
