I like to feed my fish twice a day. I feed them once in the morning with a flake or pellet food and then once in the evening with a frozen or special food. For a goldfish a special food might be a frozen food or pellets or wafers with lots of green stuff in it or even a few peas or lettuce. They love fresh veggies!
Only feed them as much as they can et in abot 5 minutes and remove any leftovers.

The number of times you feed isn't as important as how much food (and the kind of food) you're giving your fish overall.
What you can do at first is just give him a little bit. Watch how fast he eats it. If he eats it all before two minutes are up, you can give him more up until two minutes from when he starts eating. The amount you fed him is what he should get twice a day. You may want to do this a few days with a few kinds of food so you get a "feel" for how much he'll eat.
Do you have to feed twice a day? No. You can give him just one feeding. Or you can divide the amount of food from the two feedings in half and give him a little four small feedings if you'd like. Just don't go over the amount he should get for the day (note that as your fish gets bigger, he'll eat more, so you may want to repeat the timed feedings every few months). I also like to give fish a variety of foods - flakes, pellets, frozen "live' foods, and fresh veggies for those who will eat them. Fish need a balanced diet just as people do to stay healthy. Some fishkeepers recommend fasting your fish (except babies) one day each week - I also follow this practice.
And this is a warning - your fish will soon figure out that you are his source of food - he'll come over and "beg" every time you're near the tank and look oh-so-hungry! Don't fall for the act! ;)

Usually twice a day, but it depends on whether you are feeding it flakes or pellets. If you buy goldfish food at the pet store, and follow the directions on the back of the container, you should be all set!

If is outside in a pond, the weather determines the number of times,,,the warmer it gets, the more often you feed it. The food should be gone in less than 5 minutes or you are over feeding.
If it is inside in a fish bowl, once a day is enough,,,goldfish are known for eating themselves to death. and again, the food should be gone in just a couple of minutes.
Leftover food pollutes the water.

You should only feed your fish once a day and only as much as can be consumed completely in 5 minutes. You should experiement with one pinch at a time and if every bit of the food has been consumed and 5 minutes is not up, try a bit more. Fish will always act like they are starving but don't be fooled. The most common mistake fish owners make is overfeeding.

Don't feed it too much in a day because fish forget that they have just eaten and will eat more and more and die. Maybe 2/3 times?

Usually once a day. It should tell you on the container the food comes in.
