Just bought a house a little over a year ago...Needs a lot of work...lots of fixing up to do....need to winterize it more..after just going through a New England winter...Brrrrrrrr....lol....But, hoping to keep saving so I can afford to redo parts of it..But it is nice to know that the money that goes towards the mortgage..some of it actually goes to the principal of owning it...(even though it is not much...kinda sad..when it is $1400 a month..and $800 of it is to the interest...eek!),,,But it beats renting...Was paying $1000 a month for an inlaw apartment plus utilities...CRAZY! Thats what you get when you want to live by the water...(about 3 miles away)....But I love the Coast...
Ok..Rambling on here....So the first goal for maintenace is the electrical..what good will other fixer uppers be if it burns down...lol..
It is a smaller house (3 bedrooms & 1.5 baths)...how big is your house....when does a house turn into a mansion...does it have to have so many rooms or so much land? Thought I would pop in a question without getting charged some points in doing so...lol...
